Middle School Science Schedule

8:10 a.m. Science, 7th grade
9:03 a.m. Prep
10:10 a.m. Science, 5th grade
11:03 a.m. AR 8th grade
11:56 a.m. Science, 6th grade
1:17 p.m. Science, 8th grade
2:10 p.m. Accelerated Reader, 5th grade
Procedures for Middle School Science Class
1. Look up vocabulary words for each chapter. Keep them in a notebook. Bring them to class each day!
2. We take notes and discuss each lesson. Make sure you are taking good notes!
3. Vocabulary quizzes - making flashcards to use as study aids often makes learning the material easier. Caution: do not wait until the night of the test to make flashcards - make a few each night as the material is covered in class.
4. Note taking sheets are given after each chapter to see if the students are taking good notes. **This is a grade**
5. We will have a review day before the test. (Game Day) **It is very important to pay attention during review**
6. Chapter tests will cover everything in the student's notes.
7. Projects are given through the year, but our big project is the Science Fair. Grades 5, 7, 9, & 11. The Science Fair will be held February 6, 2011.
8. Please note that I do not give a lot of written homework but I do tell students to review each night the notes, vocabulary words and to read the material from the book. Good sudy habits can make a big differences in performance on tests.
9. Communicate with your child about grades!!! I will send home mid-nine week averages.
