WA Students Win at District III Art Show

Congratulations to all Wilcox Academy Students who participated at the District III Art Show last week!!! 
We are taking a great group of artists and artwork to the AISA State Art Show, which will be at Auburn University at Montgomery, Taylor Center on April 17, 2019.  The public viewing will be from 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m.

District III Winners from WA who will advance to State Art Show on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 are as follows:

K5-1

Luke Hopkins, Water Base, (Possum)

Mason Whitaker, 3D (Giraffe)

Grades 2-3

Ava Grace Gavin, Printmaking, (Jellyfish)

Grades 4-6

Samantha Cook, Painting (White House with Flowers); Printmaking (Red Rooster), 3D (Teapot with blue designs); Photography (leaf on rocky ground)

Lauren Dailey, Mixed Media (Cat in the Woods)

Grades 7-9

Mary Forrest Bell, Painting (Salmon); Water Base (Roof of House);

Glen Hasselvander, Drawing - Color (Colorful Rooster); 3D (Fish - clay)

Grades 10-12 (1st and 2nd Place Winners)

Grace Smith, Printmaking (Koi - Red Fish); Drawing Color (Green & Tan Eye)

Haley Wilkinson, Drawing Non-Color (Black and White Skull)

 

Wilcox Academy students take home Best of Division and Best of Show Awards.
Congratulations to Samantha Cook for Winning Best of Division for Grades 4-6 and Best of Show for Grades K-6 for her 3D Clay Teapot; and to Mary Forrest Bell for winning Best of Division for Grades 7-9 for her Painting of a Salmon - Great job ladies and Good Luck at State next week!!!
