Saving Pop Tops for Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Main Page Image

Former first grade and middle school social studies teacher Kay Jones began this community service project of saving can tops for the Ronald McDonald House after her husband Blue's lengthy illness and stay at UAB. Since 2007, WA has donated more than 75 gallon bags  of pop tops to Ronald McDonald Houses in Birmingham and Pensacola. In turn, the pop tops are recycled by the organization with the money being used for daily expenses.

Donations of pop tops are collected throughout the year and taken to Ronald McDonald House in the summer. Please save your pop tops from drink cans, pet food cans, soup cans, and any others that have the tops.

The Ronald McDonald House mission is to "provide a home away from home for parents to stay close to their hospitalized children at little or no cost." Learn  more about Ronald McDonald Houses at www.rmhc.org
